Lakewood Catholic Academy Materials

ART DIRECTION & design

Materials created for Lakewood Catholic Academy, grades 1–8. The first poster is placed on trash receptacles throughout the school, and showcases materials that are recyclable by utilizing simple icons. The next outlines the qualities of an International Baccalaureate learner, using the same icon style. The color scheme of these posters attracts the attention of children, while the aesthetic is inspired by the simple, flat design of the 1970s. Lastly, a set of crests were created to sort the children into "houses" to increase camaraderie among children in different grades. Each crest has a corresponding Saint, color, Latin motto and symbol. The crests fit together to form a cross, an important emblem in Catholicism.
